I just don't log dives
As I pointed out in the Macro Showcase, I fired off several hundred pics this weekend over the 13 dives I did between Friday and Monday.

Most of my shots this weekend were Wide Angle - and most of those were Rocket Man or Reef Check. I did manage a couple of non-working dives with the Wide Angle, and here are a few. Of course all of the Torpedo Rays we saw were when I had on the 105 lens... Torpedo Ray eyeball shots are not compelling viewing. Oh well. Maybe next time.

The full gallery from the weekend is here.

RocketMan report is here. If you were there, you saw it topside. Here are the underwater pix.

With the huge tide swings there were great lulls of slack. We were in the water for two of those. I was on the bottom looking up at 45+ feet of perfect, vertical kelp. I love SoCal diving.

Mui thanks to Claudette. Excellent subject, great UW model and tireless dive buddy. You are one of a kind, 'Chica.

This one is for Ber. She said she wanted to see it, and we blew past it on the way to the Sue Jac on the Saturday night dive.

The Swim Platform was about as clear as I've ever seen it. On the way back from our Valiant dive on Friday morning, it literally stopped me breathless. The sun was hitting it perfectly. I had to have Chica make a fly by so I could shoot it in scale. You could see the whole thing. Amazing.

Pretty good viz on the Val. I'm always amazed at what a fish magnet this heap is. There were so many blacksmith and mackerel and other bait fish. We got buzzed by a huge sealion a couple of times on this dive.

I motioned to Claudette to go and freestyle over the bow, in the schools of fish (the sign for that, BTW is the same as sign as "home run".... just so you know!) I have many shots of her breaking into the schools, but I like this one the best. Not too many fish, but the weightlessness of the flip is what I really love about it.

Ripping Current.

On the Valiant at Sunset - or maybe better IN the Valiant. Here's the obligatory emergence shot.

But wait, there's more. Other side, better product placement!

What wreck series is complete without the spooky twilight shot? I kinda like this one, actually.

This is the kind of viz we had this weekend. I'm on the bottom and she's at least 30 feet over me, and we can see to the top, which is about 45 or 50 feet. Just a great weekend! This is one of my favorite shots of the trip, as it tells the story of the clarity and mellow envelopment of the warm water we had. A buddy who can hold still is kinda cool, too.

I sometimes wonder if we are diving in the same Pacific Ocean. Nice shots!

Thanks for the plaque pic Ken! Wish I could have seen it in person but once we reached our 5th problem of the dive it was time to get the hell out of dodge. You take the most amazing photos, nothing we shot could ever do the place justice. Thanks for sharing!

Amazing shots, just amazing! Thank you for sharing! :)

OMG! I can't wait to get in the water this weekend... Hopefully the vis will be just as good.
