WOW! I'm home first to post, what a weird surprise that is!!!

OK.. where to start??? Aside from getting a late start due to my wife and my youngest being under the weather yesterday and through the night, we arrived in time to learn that the visibility for diving was not conducive for good tooth hunting. So as I watched Brian's boat go away (briefly pausing in the deeper areas as we watched an unknown diver get thrown off the boat by the others on board then a flag tossed at him like a javelin!) then was asked "When are we eating?!" I stifled the reply of "when we have food in our mouths" and opted for asking Ann's husband if the turkey was prepared for a saturation dive in boiling grease.. after receiving an ETA of 20-25 minutes until the dive, with a planned 60 minute dive and 10 minutes of degreaso time making it roughly 1 PM for chow time!

OK.. I just couldn't wait and started to dig in a little early, which started a little trickle in of others to join in nibbling the finger foods... thus the Conch Divers snack social hour had began! While socializing I finally got to meet Irishman, Rebel, Dad 9x10... and now my mind begins to slip. Dennis and Roxanne, Walter, Vickie and her two daughters and one of their friends, Eric, Jeff and Nickie and kids, Brian, Jenny and 'crab, Simon and Christina, Ann and her husband and family... So many wonderful people, good food, fun conversations.... hey and if i forgot to mention ya, speak up, I'm running on "outdoor brain" at the moment.

Ann - as always that turkey was INCREDIBLE!

OK... this year I'm declaring a favorite food item I found to... the smashed sweet taters! What an unexpected little treat in the middle of the table! It was so good, I went back for a second little scoop! Oh and thank you to those who don't like pecan pie, that was my 'do in' this afternoon after I had eaten more than my fill... and there was a lingering piece of pie with nobody to love it... so I ATE IT! :D

Overall, I can't say enough about the friendship gained and friends I've gotten to know in this group... thank you to everyone who came out today and shared in the revelry, without you all these gatherings couldn't be possible!!!

Soooooo.... whats for New Year?? Kris isn't preggy this year, how about an mid-night reef dive?! :)

Hi everyone. ditto collins report I did 2 dives one in the morning about 10 am vis was zero but the second dive held about 1.5 feet of vis just enough to see the bottom and collect some shells for my wife, who's name also is anna ,who "with a little help" found several small teeth and me ,well ,i found some new friends and 2 really nice shells. Thanks to everyone who came and fried turkey is yummy. reb

I didn't make it to Venice yesterday :)disappoin), but a couple of my friends did. They said they were spooked right out of the water by a possible shark. When the exited the water someone told them that there had been shark sightings the day before and why no one else was in the water. Did anyone else see them or hear of this?

A possible shark eh... 'they' are always there, but not really seen. Out of sight, out of mind. The ONLY time I'd worry about sharks in the Venice area is around Tarpon season when the large Bull and Hammerheads are following the schools up the coast. I guess being down the coast a little from the public beach we were oblivious to this rumor :D

Sharks in the water?? OH My, what is this world coming to????!!!

Nothing like a shark to add to the shark tooth dive! I'm sorry that I missed it!

There are more dives and gatherings coming up.. maybe you can join us at them!! The Turkey dive is now a tradition as well, so next year at the 4th annual we can get you active with some of the food stuff.. perhaps fingerfood coordinator! :D

As you can see from Jenny's post gathering report, she's still reeling from all the LSD or Dilithium Crystals or whatever it is in Turkey that makes people intoxicated with drowsiness... :)

Sorry I missed it, sounds like a must do for next year! :D

OOOH yeah! Great idea!! It'll be the time of year for lemon shark, right? Or is that a day-time thing only?..........not so sure I'd want to see sharks on a night dive :11: Time to plan it for sure, only a month away! <wishin' I had a drysuit BRRRR!)

The lemon shark dive sounds great, but I'd rather see them in the day as well. Better to keep my eyes on those that I'm able to (so sayeth the foolish mortal) and probably easier for me to take photos. lol
