Merry and I made a quick run to the barge after the wind died down this morning. I wasn't expecting much but we had close to twenty feet visibility. One of the octopus nests was completely hatched and another is getting close. One capsule has already been evacuated but there are hundreds ready to go any moment. Water was very warm at 59°.

Nice shots as always Phil, especially my favorite colorful home water nudi, E. iodinea (Spanish Shawl).

Typical normal "warm water" non-ENSO ("El Nino") time of the season for here in temperate SoCal waters. Was reading 18 degC/67 degF on the surface at Oil Rig Eureka, and a "pleasant" 14C/58F all the way down to 90m depth. . .
