I think I wrote about this dive somewhere, but I don't remember where. Our trip through that side passage was a setup, to give us the experience of exiting in a siltout. It was a real learning experience for both of us. I looked at the small tunnel and thought, "Shoot, I can swim through here without making a mess, I'll show Rob!" Turned out the stuff in Florida is VERY different from the limestone silt in MX -- much finer, stickier, and much easier to disturb. As careful as I was, I still ruined the viz, and on the way back out, got my first taste of a true zero-viz exit (truly zero viz at one point, because I think I had my head IN the silt). It was nice to feel calm and prepared for doing it.

I know some people say Twin is boring . . . but I thought the Subway Tunnel was beautiful, with the sculpting the water has done. And the walls are FULL of beautifully preserved fossils. I also have found, both times I have done it, the trip down the fissure and back up the other one to be great fun and a real challenge to do cleanly (and thank you, Rob, for editing out that part of the video :) ).

Anyway, the video brings back great memories. And I need to turn my ankles more!

Nice video, Rob!

Great soundtrack, too!
