The port is closed today. The line of thunderstorms we flew through on the way in yesterday was a front that hit Cozumel later in the day. The wind is blasting out of the north and will be all day.

Dave moved his boats from the east side yesterday; this caught Aldora by sursprise along with everyone else. In almost 40 years of coming to Cozumel, almost always in May, this is only the third time I have seen a May norte. I hope it blows itself out by tomorrow.

Yeah, we had a norte come in a couple years ago in late May ... hope she blows through and you get on with the diving and fishing :D

In 8 years this is the first time I lost a dive day due to a norte. Just so happened on my last day of diving this trip. O well still had 15 great days of diving.

Unfortunately May 5th was my first day of diving and I missed out. But the good part was I got to spend ALL of the day with my wife. The sea was choppy but the sky/sunshine was fabulous.

We just got home last night and I figured there'd be a thread about the Norte.

We had our am dives cancelled due to that as well but made up for it with 4 tanks the next day. We did go to the other side of the island and water was calmer. Got home last night and lucked out with no thunderstorms in Dallas/DFW. Temps in Coz stayed cool with low humidity for a few days afterwards until the wind swung around.

I missed out that morning as well (also my first day) but they opened the port shortly after noon and we went out. I was there 12 days and I found the weather to be unusually cool most of the time we were there.
