I signed up for the board couple of months ago but I just today, posted for the first time and I felt like I mind as well introduce myself here now too. I can already say that I have gotten a tremendous amount of good information just by reading your posts. Big thanks for that!
I got totally hooked on diving in Thailand where I did two discover scuba dives. As I mentioned in my other post, I had serious problems with my ears because I had just had a bad sinus infection before the trip. They hurt like nothing before and on top of that the mask leaked badly. Still, I was pure smiles on the boat back to the shore.
Now I've finished the OWD in the less tropical conditions of Finland and in a drysuit. I initially thought the drysuit would be too much hassle and really just wanted to do the theory and the confined water dives at home and then have the referral papers with me on my August trip to Florida. I am sooooo happy I ended up experiencing the feet up - head down approach to scuba here in the lovely, cold and, hmph, not so clear waters.
I'll be doing my AOWD in couple of weeks and then head to Florida in August. Yohoo!!
Any tips on places / dive shops in the Ft. Lauderdale / West palm beach area are more than welcome. My friends don't dive but I definitely will want to experience the underwater world and the wetsuit there. Can't wait!!! Just want to blow bubbles...
