I'm a Fish!
Thinking that I'm not doing something right on my setup. Anybody have pics of them in a good gear configuration for wreck penetration around 70-130 fsw w/ pony. I carry everything but the kitchen sink and feel like a Borg Drone. Looking for a good streamlined setup with a BC. Config for lights, pony, reels, sausages, safety crap, etc. A good oporitunity to show off your gear too.....lets see it! Some of the ladies too because the Mrs. is always by my side. Need to feel very safe. Twins w/ isolator manifold setup maybe?

Hi BB,
I'm at work, so I have no pics of me here. What do you all carry and do you dive a single, single + pony, doubles or doubles + pony. Plus, what accessories do you carry. Carrying everything but the kitchen sink is generally not a good idea, plus it can be dangerous (think entanglement, over weighted and exhaustion due to drag.
The most streamlined configuration I that I am aware of is the DIR Back Plate/Wings configuration. I myself do not use this set up at this time, but there are plenty here who can, and tons of photos of it. If TS&M pops in, maybe she has some photos of her set up.
Hope this helps,
George

What about penetrating is not technical?

I'm not sure what non-technical wreck penetration is. Isn't that the definition of technical?

Edit: Didn't see Blackwood's post!

I realize "tech" includes wreck pen but I , for some reason , have always considered tech as rebreathers and stage tanks and beyond rec limits past 130 with 5 grand regs and cave diving. Cruising through a wreck is no biggie....hook a reel and frog around.....I'm looking for stream lined configurations. I list my equipment on my link below rather than spit it out here....I carry all of it. Just need setup advice from the pros. Everybody I dive with use basic configurations that , to me, seem unprepared for when it all goes wrong.

Like a good rig for the bridge of the Speigel Grove.....not a 200 ft deep WW2 sub

yeah...that video is definately tech. A bit too much for me. Cool video. Something to strive for. I do have one of my AL80's ringed for use as a pony and let my wife sling the 40. I feel like a bus trying to park at Dairy Queen. :shakehead: My probe LX bc has an optional plate for doubles. Was thinking about it with an isolator manifold w/ remote and twin CDX5 / GT3's . Alot of wieght....no prob....but my wife wieghs 105 lbs and couldnt handle the load. Was going to try her out on a slung AL80 before I flip for the manifold. Unless someone has a better idea?

If you take away the bottles and the scooter, the configuration is the same.

Its looking like I need to scrub and start over. My rig is too recreational....period. Time to go wings and setup the Probe BC for fluffy little reefs and beach dives. So what do you think....BP/W , twins, iso manifold and a gym membership for the wife?
