Well, thank you all for your comments! After reading them, I got on the phone and signed up for swimming lessons at the YMCA. I understand this is something that I do not need to rush into. Once again thanks for the encourgement.
 
on your desicion. It is a very wise one. Swimming is a great skill that can be useful, fun and even life-saving, whether you ever scuba dive or not.

swimming is kind of an important element of diving aswell as being comfortable underwater. I know people who are strong swimmers but to them having 20, 30, 40 and so on feet of water over top of them freaks the hell out of them.
