non atomic octo to pair with M1 primary

I'm looking for an octo to pair with the M1, but would like to avoid spending the money on the Z2 octo.
Anyone would have a hint on which other brand would pair well with Atomic first stage:
- Apex octo (XTX40 or 20)
- AL octo (Legend or titan)

Or anything else ?

Any second stage will work just fine, but I recommend keeping a reg single branded so when it's time for service you only need a tech for one brand.

Or at least make it of a brand that the LDS that services your reg sells so they can service the octo too.

FWIW, second stages "see" only IP. They aren't real smart; they don't know what brand the IP is, so they'll work just fine with any first stage, as long as they're tuned to that first stage's IP.

TF is spot on. Just get something that you can get serviced at your local shop.

Shameless plug, I am in the process of rebuilding a B2 (replacing the hose, purge, knob, exhaust, along with all the o-rings). I planned to sell it with a B2 first stage but would consider selling it separate. If you want a Z1 octo I have access to one of those as well but not fully rebuilt just basic service.

All well and good unless you move or your lds folds, single brand is still best option.
