Taking a breath on my Aqualung regulator when dry, it makes a noise beyond just the normal flow of air. Is that an issue?

Tuned right, my Apeks seconds make a kind of warbly noise when breathing them topside. Underwater, they breathe smooth, easy and even. How do they breathe and sound underwater?

Is the noise from the second stage? (I’m going with that assumption)

How is that noise like? Metal rattle? “Fart” like? Humming sound lo/hi frequency?

Is it pressurized? Or is there a difference between pressurized vs not?
If you inhale “slowly” / lightly, do you feel 2 different “stages” (change in how you feel the air rushing in)?

My guess is something to do with sticktion, where the diaphragm will vibrate (like a whoopie cushion fart sound) when dry and water tension/pressure stabilize that effect (also very slow breathing will probably eliminate it)
Edit: i might be very mistaken, that’s more of an exhale thing— thoughts any one with more experience 🤷🏽‍♀️?

If not, I would then ask: when was last service?
My guesses here:
- balanced chamber issue (cracked/ not a good seal/ not well lubricated at oring)
- low lever height
Check this thread out to get a sense of what I mean Halcyon H75P + Halo (weird?) cranking effort

These can “interact”/ feedback onto each other btw, but I could be off target
