Ok, getting this primary dive light search narrowed down. On the list is the Nocturnal SLX 800 t. I dive in cold ( dry suit ) dark and bad viz conditions. Does anybody know of this light and can comment, both good and bad. About $400 US, so it's not cheap. Very few comments on Scubaboard about this light.

For those of you that might know of my search in earlier threads, the light I tried to describe earlier was the Intova 220 LED. This was the light a buddy was talking about. I'm thinking about it as a secondary, but my primary question here is about the SLX 800 t.

Thanks for any good/bad comments.

Nice, i guess we have similar dive light tastes hehe

I have a nocturnal light sx800t as primary, and intova compact torch (130lumens?) as backup i keep in my BC pocket... ..ive only done one night dive and 2 daytime deep dives with SX800t, and havent used the intova at night yet, just during day time as primary......

I'm actually doing a night dive this thursday so maybe I'll have more feedback for you then...but what i can say is that the SLX800t is built VERY well, very nice housing....it reminds me of a giant surefire as far as build quality.....so far no leaks, not a single drop of water or condensation in the light.....i'm still on the same set of batteries after 3 dives and its still extremely bright.............i love how you can adjust the lens angles (before, not during, a dive) from very wide flood down to a hotspot, or a mix of both.....mine came with a goodman handle, as well as the lanter style handle....iv'e tried both, dont really have a preference for one or the other...........its very light and more compact than other cheaper dive lights.....

the intova 220 lumen model looks similar to mine.....they are built very strong, and feel very hefty.....the beam on mine is a very very focused hotspot...fits perfectly in my zeagle ranger BC pocket.......no complaints about the light, impressed with build quality ...but i have yet to try it out in pitch dark....
