Four pages of posts about declaring the DIR forum a no-trolling zone? Zounds! Cold weather not withstanding, it sounds like its time to stop racking up posts and start racking up fathoms.

Pity the poor DIR divers, so risable that they can't resist flaming every troll that comes their way. How is it that a group with a reputation for being so self-controlled and disciplined has to be protected from the horrible psychic trauma of a troll? I would have thought they were tougher than that. I do think they're tougher than that.

How about this for a suggestion: if you think a post is a troll, rather than respond, simply ignore it or post a one-word reply - TROLL. Then go about your business and don't worry about it. The rule should be simple - play nice or go away. It should apply equally to all, a lesson that many DIR proponents should bear in mind before they start with the stroke/Rule #1/Rule #6 comments here and in other fora. Maybe a little more civility on the part of DIR proponents would lessen the number of trolls that climb up from under the bridge.

Until three posts ago, the thread had died for a month...I doubt anyone is uncivilized about this at present.

Is there to be a section dedicated to other ways of diving? Like the old traditional way of using short hoses and a jacket style BC that is still common today?

No.
