Thanks for your fast respons, Scott!!

I will send you my questions directly (ScottL@zeagle.com) right now.

I live in Denmark and I therefore find email a lot easier than expensive phonecalls in the middle of the night (7-8 hours ahead of you guys) :-)

Thanks, again!

Glad I could help all. I thought there had to be some reasonable explaination, ignoring customers is not what I have come to expect from Zeagle.

Good Luck Rich, come home safe. Lets do some diving when you get back

Thanks Herman for calling Zeagle. Guess with the 'information age' I had too high expectations about email correspondence. When I thought that it was only me, it wasn't a big concern since my questions weren't pressing. But when I heard that it happened to others, that was alarming.

Glad to know that Zeagle's customer support is as good as their products. I very much like my Ranger and DS-IVs. My questions were around stepping into a Zeagle backplate actually (too much reading scubaboard).

Good to hear that this wasn't a real issue.

I've had a Zeagle bc since the mid 80s, when I bought it used. I had to send it back to the factory once for a bladder leak - this was in the late 90s iirc - and it came back quickly, fixed, free of charge. So in my experience Zeagle has excellent customer service.

Interestingly, and perhaps somewhat off point, my Zeagle seems to be way ahead of its time. It's a simple black plastic backpack with a blue wing and a single continuous strap - I think its one of the original BP/W designs, though it pre-dates that terminology or thinking. I recently dove a new jacket-style bc that a relative gave me because of my "dated" bc, and found that without realizing it I've been a BP fan for years. Hate the cummerbund and sloppy fit; going to unload the jacket.

Anyway, kudos to Zeagle for a great design a long time ago.

I to had a question for Zeagle so I emailed them yesterday morning around 7:00am Oct/12/04 and am still waiting on a response, I know it has only been nearly two days, guess I had high hopes but now you got me wondering if it will be answered.I took the question to the scubaboard here http://www.scubaboard.com/t75256-what-model-zeagle-is-this.html. And this is where it brought me. So if I don't receive an answer from Zeagle in another day or two I suppose I will need to send it to scott@zeagle.com. BTW the first two emails were to [email]tech@zeagle.com and [email]info@zeagle.com . Thanks scott for the support.Your techs by any chance are not in India are they?

Our tech support is done directly at the factory in Zephyrhills, Florida.

I answered your email as soon as I hit the office today (after driving 16 hours from Houston) The simple fact is, all of the people who answer the emails have been at the DEMA show. We left on Saturday, October 8th and got back very early this morning. I saw your response to Jim Fox that you were going to buy Mares due to the fact that they answered your email much faster than he and I did, and that is fine. Mares chose not to support the DEMA show this year, so I guess they had more time to answer your emails quickly.

The quick response from Mares was one reason, the other was the fact that I still have no idea what exactly this thing is besides "Beta"? I do not know what weight it takes, what the lift is or anything at all about it for that matter, I was mainly looking for more info on it but didn't get it and you said you were all DEMA show, whos left to keeps things running when there are problems or concerns? Either way this is kind of useless to me this way so I decided to get a Mares to match all the rest of my gear,If I am trusting my life to something I feel the need to know a few things about it.thanks again for the reply and have a great day.

I can understand your points, but let me leave you with one question...

If you are concerned about all of these things, why would you buy a BC that is used and 20 years old off of ebay???????

Why weren't you concerned about these things BEFORE you bought the BC???

Regardless, I hope you enjoy your gear and dive safe!

I know for a fact that Scott, Jim W and Jim F as well as Dennis are very interested in hearing what you have to say. I have personally talked to ALL of them on many occasions. I have never had any problems with customer service from the Zeagle factory or their reps. I am not an official spokesperson for Zeagle and will not make any claims on their behalf. I do know that from time to time, like at the present for example that the Zeagle factory and it's employees are very busy working to keep up with the demands and orders from their clients. They have a solid product and stand behind it every inch of the way and are always looking for ways to improve their products and product line. Given the type and conditions of diving that I do, I trust Zeagle equipment every inch of depth and every second of bottom time.

When Scott and other Zeagle staff members say they will work with you to answer your questions you can trust that they will. There are a small handfull of manufacturers that I would make such a supporting claim about.

Do you expect the entire scuba diving industry to revolve around your specific needs??? Not one of your questions or concerns is even remotely life threateningly urgent. I doubt seriously that Mares stayed away from DEMA just so they could be at your beck and call.
