..the rich folks gotta have their tax cut!?!..

We can spend billions and billions on missle defence, but sorry, there just isn't enough left over to take care of that gulf war syndrome stuff...I guess you can't really expect a commander in chief who's daddy got him out of the war when he was young to fully appreciate just what a veteran really has to go through.

When we go to threat level red, the government legally seizes all national communications networks (including the internet). Oh, and your car, and your land, and your labor...etc.

they will be asking why enlistment is way down and they can't get recruits. When the boy next store finds out that his government won't stand by him and pay for injuries he may get fighting for that same country....he will think about finding another way to get money for college.

All that sucks...

But some of us defend our country because we want to.. They call us MARINES. If your in it for the college.. They call you the air force. If your in it because you don't know what to do with your life, they call it the navy. And by now I think everyone knows what ARMY stands for.

But life isn't about money to all of us.

I don't believe in cutting essential services. The 300$ check I got from the government in 2001 wasn't even a hiccup in my budget. But my $300 added up with the $300 sent to all other American taxpayers might have paid for medical care for vets, or prescription drugs for pensioners or other essential services for Americans who aren't fortunate enough to be wealthy.

It sucks even more if there is no money to help you deal with injuries received in service to your country.

It's sad how our government doesn't really seem to be of, by, or for the people who need it the most. The rich will always find a way to take care of their own. It's the average Joe who ends up out in the cold.

I don't mind it that my property taxes went up 18% this year. I can afford to pay and my city needs the money for the fire department's payroll. But I DO object to the 33% subway fare hike that is going to make the difference between surviving and sinking for a lot of hard working New Yorkers.

I'm still a bleeding heart.

Bob3 once bubbled...
House Budget Resolution Will Slash $9.7 Billion from Veterans Medical Care and $15 Billion from Disability Compensation and Other Benefit Programs.

Sort of gives the lie to all this talk about "we should all support our troops!" doesn't it.

If they could only do that a couple more times, the war would be paid for. Wouldn't that be great - the military pays for its own wars! I guess they will eventually want my retired pay.
