The name change was expected but no details on the new camera unfortunately.
 
Don't think the name is too important at this stage but the new camera will be the making or breaking of the company.
 
Why throw out a catchy name with strong brand recognization for something very generic and unimaginitive-sounding?

Did they not sell that segment of the company? And maybe the new company did not also aquire the rights to the original brand name? I hope they survive please. N
 
I think Olympus is still continuing in some areas. OM is hardly imaginative but their first mistake was making a voice recorder as their first project. So we all know the marketing dept. have little control in this company. I am hopeful it is being run by engineers and then the camera's will continue to be innovative and light.
I will be very interested in the specs of the new camera.
