No farting at >30 ft -- Myth?

I don't know about other divers, but I can fart at 170'. Been there, done that!
 
Funny, I've heard an almost opposite myth--

Don 't eat gassy foods; beans, raw vegies and such before diving, because the gas that forms at depth, would expand upon rising, causing cramps, or worse.

One of the nice aspects of scuba is that you can make up almost any kind of BS and a decent proportion of folks will buy into it.
 
I once foamed my wetsuit furiously at 45ft. Gas was passed as well.

Some sort of mild food poisoning that hit suddenly.
 
My wife has never farted in her wetsuit or on land.

Her cat seems to have gas so bad the candle flames turn blue, but she says it isn't her.

Just saying, that's all

i don't consider it a dive unless there is some off gassing during the dive. then i have to it age in the dry suit for a wile so my buddy can sample the fine aromas of a good dive back on the boat.

o and i think that is the funniest pic i have see in a will
