No diving in the Bahamas other than on Nassau?

I have a family event which brings me to Nassau next July. I'd appreciate any information on what the dive experiences were for you down there, ie: where & with who & your recommendations - Thanks -

Unexso is excellent for a day operator, but you might check-out Blackbeards cruises and try a liveaboard. Blackbeards operates out of Port Lucaya and runs week long diving adventures around Grand Bahama island, Bimini and other reefs that the day operators cannot reach.

When you are on the island try out the Fish fry on Wednesdays at Taino Beach or the live Jazz on Sundays at Tony Macaroni's also on Taino Beach.

Have to take a cab from the cruise ship to the resort, and back, but it's worth it. These guys love to dive, are knowledgeable and safe, and will accomodate you well. I can't speak highly enough about them. My son and I dove with them last year, too. We will do so again.

We dove with them in early June of 2006. One of the best run outfits going. They're smaller and very personal. They should be able to work around your schedule.

[Blackbeards]

The diving on the Paradise island side of the island consist of a number of shallower reef and wreck dives. There is also a Blue hole that is about an hour boat trip outside the harbor. On the otherside of the island where Stuart Cove is located are nice wall dives and they also have a shark dive. Although there is a commute to get to the otherside from Atlantis, I think the diving is more exciting then in front of Paradise island.
