Round Valley Recreation area off RT 31 north of Flemington. Man made lake which usually has good viz( was there a couple weeks ago terrible viz). Mud bottom with a training platform and usually lots of fish to watch.
L Street in Belmar. Tide dependent dive max depth about 20 ft lots of different marine life to see thru out the year.
There are some other beach dives but I'd recommend getting really comfortable with your skills and gear before trying some of those.
Dive safe

Round Valley Reservior. Never been there, strangely enough, since it's only abut 20 minutes from home. Give me a holler next time you plan to go! :)

The viz? At least 200'. And LOTS of fish. Lots and lots. Sharks and dolphins, too. :out:

But seriously, folks, the viz depends on the number of divers in the lake. More divers=more bottom gunk stirred up. I have been in 0 viz, and in 50' viz. Just depends. It's usually very nice though. And the water is this unique bluish color that I haven't seen anywhere else.
There are some fish there, but I would not say 'lots'. They do have these weird hybrids that my friend calls
"Palomino Trout", but I am not sure if he made that up or not. And tons of big pretty bluegills in the shallows. Those are pretty cool, and I have seen some the size of dinner plates.
But don't expect to see a ton of fish.

Everyone's torturing me! Finished my class/pool training 4 weeks ago and waiting for my dive shop to schedule cert. dives at Dutch Springs. What's taking them so long

Sorry! :sorry:

But don't despair, Michael, for you will soon be among the Certified Masses, and will be able to join us at DS or Round Valley. And you can spend (even more) money on new equipment. :D
