Nitrox Dedicated Regulator

I have been diving for just over a year now and have a little under 50 dives. I have started to dive more Nitrox and am looking for a nitrox dedicated setup. This is also because I am looking to do some extended range diving. I am looking for suggestions as to a good setup and why it is good.

For those of you interested I currently have a Scubapro Mk20 with S600 for my primary and Mk20 with G250 for my pony bottle.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Well you mentioned nitrox and extended range. Was wondering if any other gases besides nitrox will be involved or is this a deep air excursion with nitrox on the way up? Or is this an extended range with nitrox?

In either case a good regulator makes all the difference in the world. You need to look at ease of service, obtaining repair parts, field repair work, performance, reliability in the enviroment you are going into, o2 cleaning (variant on how you will be filling the tank) and so forth.

If you search this board you'll find countless post on good regulators to use. Almost all reg's on the market today can be nitrox cleaned/ready, just don't attempt to use the titanium regs with anything besides AIR.

Personaly I would recomend a good high performance regulator.

With the possible exception of Titanium Regs, I subscribe to the conventional wisdom that Regs do not need to be O2 cleaned for use with EANx40 or lower.

I was planning on using specifically Nitrox to do either deco diving or some limited extended range diving. For now I do not plan on using anything other then nitrox but I can't predict the furture.
