Nitrogen Absorbtion at 2-3' mark?

You may fully saturate at 22 feet and then ascend directly to the surface at 30 ft/min without suffering from DCS.

I serious doubt that anyone would make up tables for 10 fsw dives, since such tables are completely unnecessary.
 
maybe he should do a deco stop at 6 inches before surfacing.
 
Just saw an ad and it looks like he is using a hooka set up- Scubapro s600 2nd stage based on the quick glimpse. Total tank looks to be about 7feet in depth.

As mentioned the pressure is quite minimal. no real chance of DCS, and who knows he might be on a mix. :D

I will give it a try using the law of partial pressures. At the surface we breathe a mixture of gas that is roughly 21% Oxygen and 79% Nitrogen. There are additional trace elements but lets keep it simple. 3' is 12/11's atmospheres of pressure = 1.091 ata. That mean's that Mr. blaine is breathing the equivalent of 86.181% Nitrogen.

While I do not have any tables or means of calculating off-gas because they are all theoretical anyway. I would venture a guess that Mr. Blaine would be able to maintain that depth indefinitely without negative reprecussions.

Are you sure you are an instructor? He would still be breathing 79% nitrogen. Percentages don't change, partial pressures do.
 
I think he has more to worry about with his hands. They just showed them on CNN and all the skin has deep wrinkles and the skin is starting to come off.
 
Did they say his breathing gas is Air or is it a rich Nitrox mixture?

If I'm not mistaken GDI, the breath holding part is after more than a week in a water filled sphere.


Like I say I didn't see the program,

His hands and skin would cause for concern as the skin peels back off them.

There ahave been divers who usually at depth of 10-20 ft remain submerged for more then several days setting records
