Hello,

Has anyone taken the underwater photography course offered by Nikon School of Photography? I saw there add and I was thinking about going to the Cayman Islands where this material is taught.

Tanks,

Jim

can you post a link to the class?

it'd be interesting to see what it offers

Here is a link:

I took it back in 2000 when it was taught with Nikonos V cameras. I took it as a jump start because I had never used a camera underwater and only a PNS topside. It was a good class for beginners. Reading the course outline, it looks like it is geared for digital now (which is good IMHO). The diving in Brac is good and you make the trip over to Little Cayman (weather permitting) which is great diving.

Here is a link to some of my pics from the class (first time u/w with a camera):

If you are not a beginner, Mauricio Handler has a class once / year on the T&C Aggessor that is great.

God damn... now i have to pay off my new regs and BP/W so i can charge a vacation to my credit!!

Does anyone know of any underwater photography schools that use an all inclusive resort as the base because most my family don't dive and vacation exclusively to all inclusives

ummm thanks? that one's already been mentioned?!

I took the NAUI/NIKON uw photo course back in the late 80's. The course I took was taught by Scott Frier, who had shot the Amazon expedition for the Cousteaus. He was a Nikon employee at the time and was on loan to the Cousteaus. That was quite a course !! In addition to learning the basics of uw photo he gave us a short course on Nikonos maintenance, which helped me keep my camera/accessories in top notch shape until I switched over to digital.
