Anyone up for a night dive on Thursday 10/16 off Hibiscus? Those pictures Jenny posted look pretty amazing for a reef so close to shore. And it's easy entry right off the beach.

Marc

Ok, I'm in! 6:30 we meet?

Later is better, Jen, but we're up for anything. I have three in my party, and we have no time constraints - any time is fine.

There is some phosphorescence in the water now, by the way, so with lights out you an stir it up.

Wind has been low and visibility is like a swimming pool close in. For some reason it gets a little cloudy out to the balls, but less than Sunday. It's still 30' to 50' tho, worst case scenario unless the chop picks back up.

To give an idea of what the surf is like, last night when I went in my ripples flowed OUT... there was no surf. Just like a big pool.

With the northward current (very light, btw) the big fish have moved up the coast so we'll be stuck with the usual cuddly little critters like a variety of eels, blowfish, tangs/doctors/surgeons, cows/trunks, files, etc etc etc. I wonder if turtles might return. I'm determined to see more octopus.

... a 7:00pm meet, and 7:30pm into the water?

Sunset is at 6:56pm.

Mike - how's parking at that time? Is the area lit?

Marc

I prefer desending while it is still partially light. descending at 7 is fine...
weather permitting...

Please spare a moments thought for us poor individuals locked into other obligations.

Taste the salt for me.

OK - I'll try to get there earlier.

I've got my lights and flag ready to go. New X-Vision mask and a new neutrally buoyant tank checked out. Camera batteries charged. There's a couple of light sticks and ties in my dive box. All set! :D

See ya tomorrow.
