I'd love to be there, but with rush "hour" (using the term loosly) and coming from Pasadena, I'd be on the road for hours each way. :banghead:

Yeah, getting from here to any dive spot (besides the Caltech pool :-)) isn't a piece of cake. I remember commuting to Laguna for an evening dive or two quite a while ago ... I left early and was still on the road for an hour and a half plus. I've also had a few dicey drives to Redondo and Malibu at that hour. By comparison, coming home is always a breeze.

I would love to join you all for a night dive, but I think I need a few more dives under my belt before I take on the night.... ;)

Stryker,

I respect your desire for more experience.

But, assuming 1-2 ft surf, Shaws is one of the easiest dive's going. I also realize that that night brings in another level of "issues". I have done this dive at night many times and would be happy to give you a tour.

I do not want to pressure you, but just let you know that you are more than welcome to join us.

Yes, it was an awesome dive! My group (two non-scubaboarders) saw two eels, and two octopod in the reef. Went into the crevice and spotted all those Hopkin's roses everyone been's talking about. On the way in, a baby bat ray, tons of CA round rays, and two male crabs fighting over the female crab. Boy was the winner ever rough on the poor female! :mfight:

BTW, if anybody finds an aqualung big knife, it's mine! :ninja:

It was cool to meet John, Aaron, and Seth before the dive, and talk with Aaron and Seth afterwards. Night diving rules!!

Yeah it was fun! It was good hanging out and getting a good dive in. Im glad the vis is finally getting better, although its worse at the back of the line. We need to do it again soon.

Thanks Aaron and Seth...

Yea sorry bout that.. ;) I try and keep my finning to a minimum.... course with that surge I always seemed to have my face right in Aaron's foot.... almost like a magnet.. I would try and slow down and BAM right there again.

Next time you take middle.. I have no problem keeping up (obviously hah)
