Gabe, this is an area in scuba where you can waiste a lot of money over time. If you dive often, the cost of batteries will add up very quickly. The HID canister light is the way to go indeed although very exspensive.

Alternatively, I would suggest the light Cannon, exspensive to replace the bulb though.

Failing that the eLed from UK, white light from the LED that travels better. I would invest in some rechargeables if you dive often.

As a backup light, the smaller the better. You are going to aboart the night dive when your primary light fails, so you just need something to read you gauges. This one is nice and bright too.

The UK C4, UK SL4 are just a waist of time in my book........enjoy.
