Post #2 has pictures and directions explaining everything about the jetties. Just get to the parking area by the jetties, and we will show you everything else. We will wait on everyone at the parking area, especially those who have not made the walk to the jetties before.

I am right off of Hwy 98 in Mary Esther. You have to drive by my house if you are coming from Pensacola. If you want to meet me at my house, you can follow me, or even throw your gear in my truck and ride over with me. PM me if I can help.

I will be in a Red Dodge truck, with a tank rack in the back.

I will be there Saturday night, but based upon what I did to my ear at Ft. Pickens, I probably won't be diving. Still waiting to get in to my ENT to find out for sure. So, I have at least 4 or 5 lights that anyone is welcome to use. If you need one just let me know and I will be sure to bring them.

Looks like I might have to be the shore crew for this dive!:shakehead:

I'm definately in...and bringing a buddy. I need to buy a light between now and then.

I hate to hear that! Hopefully you'll get some relief between now and then. I may take you up on that flashlight offer if you don't mind. I didn't want to get in a hurry and end up buying something I didn't want. After seeing you use that DIve-Rite LEd thingy, I've beenconsidering building one. That was sweet. Till then, I think I'll settle on the 50-150$ range models. THe cost of the canister lights make me depressed. lol

I will have the following lights that you can use:

  • I have my LED LUX 900 Dive Rite canister
  • If you don't want to mess with a canister light. I have the new Intova 4.7 watt LED, 130 Lumen light. This is an awesome light, in a small package. I have the light sock that fits on your hand with the light. Check out specs. on this light. It is a great light if you are looking for something compact.
Diving Back-Up Lights - Dive Gear Express

  • I have a traditional pistol grip light you can use.
  • I also have 2 Intova 3 watt LED's you can use for backup.
So, I will bring those with me and we will hook you up with a primary light, and two backup lights. I agree, don't rush in to getting something. Anytime I have done that, I have regretted it.

Vortex Springs Dive Shop sells an OxyCheq "back-up light that is brighter than many "primary" lights. It's LED, so batteries last forever, and it's only about $70.

Intova also makes a very nice wide-angle LED light with a magnetic switch that runs $40-$50. It uses lithium batteries, but it lasts forever too.
