Welcome Seahorsewoman!!

Age is relative.......

Sounds like you had good instructors etc...

From what I've heard from my sister (shrswnm), her instructors were demanding a higher level of competence and a lot more drilling than I've seen for BOW here in The States. That's a good thing. (I've got to dive with her.) It's not surprising to me that it's taking a few more lessons to get her cert. That's a good thing, too.

Its great to hear you got your c-card!!! This sport rocks let the adventure begin... :-)

shrswnm,

Welcome to diving! May it be an inspiring, fulfilling and motivating part of your life.
Do you have plans for continuing your diving education? Or trips?

Peace,
Patrick

Dean810-- Just south of the town of Eilat is an area called Divers Village with half a dozen dive clubs. All the centers can provide everything from snokeling to the most advanced recreational dive lessons. There's really lovely reef and tons of colorful fish (I hope to get to know them all personally, but first I have to get good at keeping myself alive in their home). I'm new at diving , but over the years spent time snorkling The Caves and the Coral Nature Reserve. Taba, Egypt is just about 5 miles down the road and most of the dive boats go out from there. Gabe's done a liveaboard from there and could tell you all about it. He says its some of the most beautiful diving in the world.
Met a large family of divers from Chicago at the dive center there--3 generations diving together.
There's lots else to do in Eilat-- Desert mountain hikes, jeeps, even clubbing. So I'm sure your daughter had a great time even without (G-d forbid) diving.

Patrick--hope to get down there again in about 6 weeks--all a matter of $$$. But at Aqua Sport, when they saw how motivated I was and needed a few extra dives to get certified, they gave me a big break in the price for those.
