My best friend and I were in Florida last week and both took classes and are open water certified. We both live in NE Alabama near Jacksonville and are looking for a good place to go dive as our first place to go dive. Any suggestions?
Thanks

In NE Florida....vortex, morrison spring, panama city beach, and St. Andrews jetties.

We did dives in Morrison Spring when I did open water training in PCB. It was great. Anyone have any info on Dive Land Park in Glencoe? That is very close-by. What are their hours? Do they have rental gear there?

Chris come on up to Madison quarry and dive. Water temp is mid 70's right now on the bottom. There is a thread at the top that you can get info on it. Really good place for new divers to work on skills.http://www.madisonquarry.com/

Do they have rental gear onsite? What are the hours? What if my friend who got certified with me is not able to come and I won't have a buddy? Is it easy to get paired up with someone there?

Does anyone know the visibility at Madison Quarry? I was planning to go with some friends a couple weekends ago, but the visibility was between 0-4 feet. I'd call the dive site, but you know how they are "Oh yeah, looks great! Come on down!" *drive down there* "Well, it was clear yesteday... :dontknow:"

Chris, contact Britt at Better Diver SCUBA Training and Equipment . I know he has equipment on site but I would contact him before coming up. As far as the viz it's a quarry not the keys or the gulf but last weekend the viz was 15 to 20 ft,and the bottom temp in the mid 70's. Also chris britt will help you get paired up with someone to dive with. Like I said contact him before coming up he can answer your question. Also there is a thread tagged at the top of the top of the deep Dixie page
