HI, this is my first time to SB / Ventura area. My GF is from Ojai and wants to dive durring a visit to her folks. Any suggestions on an OP or location for two green PADI AOW divers. We learned in Sacramento and dove in Monterey. About 20 dives each. An easy shore dive would be preffered.

Thanks,

Carl

Thanks any more?

Deer Creek A.K.A. Rick's Reef is probably my favorite, but I don't have nearly as many beach dives as most of the people on here. I suggest getting wet by 8:00AM there, no later the surf can really pick up. I would rate it an intermediate dive. Leo Carillo is a great beginner dive, you can pretty much go out anywhere on the beach side and hit a reef. There is always northern Ventura and Santa Barbara. I'm not to familiar with that area though.

Carl,

I'm running a board that is specific to beach diving in Santa Barbara:

It's still somewhat in its developing phase but there's quite a bit of information and you probably could find some buddies there as well. When are you coming down here? We're organizing a diving day on August 5.

Jacek, I received a PM recommending your board and you as a good source. Thank you for your input. I love SB just for the kind responses I get.

See you guys in the water.
