Hi everyone...I just wanted to say hi as I am new here and have always wanted to get into scuba diving. I am 25 and live in Wisconsin right now. I was going to get into diving and get certified a few years back but ended up getting diagnosed with cancer and had to go through about 8 months of treatment for it so my dreams of getting certified at that time kinda got put on the back burner. Well treatment went great and I have had a clean bill of health for just about 3 years now and can't wait to be able to get certified now! I will probably be taking the certification next summer so I can get back into shape again (chemo really does a number on your body!) this year and be better prepared. I look forward to talking with all of you!

Howdy, Ikkie, glad to have you aboard!

Oh..also I was wondering if there are any good companies out there that offer custom wetsuits or suits for bigger people. I'm 6'2" and when i'm in shape and 'skinny' i'm still about 250 lbs so finding wetsuits is a bit of a problem...any help would be appreciated!

Welcome! You could probably do just fine with a henderson hyperstretch right off the rack. They have a lot of range because of their 200% stretcth. They also do 2 types of custom fitting one where they adjust lengths (for a small fee) and one where the whole suit is made custom from measurements by a local lds (a lot more expensive). I have 2 hyperstretch suits (the only ones that fit me without alterations) and I love them. Also Liquidfit in florida makes custom suits and you can talk to the owner on the phone while taking measurements and filling out a chart. Prices are real reasonable. I have also seen a similar chart for Aquaflite suits.Good luck and enjoy!

Thanks for the info....sorry just realized that there is an introductions section here so i'll repost this where it belongs! Thanks again!

Hello from Green Bay. Plenty of places to dive in the area. Some nice quarries. Plently of wrecks in Lake Michigan and Lake Superior. Don't go to salt water to fast you don't want to get spoiled right away. :D

Another welcome from another Wisconsinite. I´m in Beaver Dam, but my daughter and son-in-law (both divers) live in Menasha.
