Being a new diver, I am finding it extremely frustrating finding a dive buddy that I can match up with. Any advice? No one to dive with means no diving....

Welcome to ScubaBoard!!

I'm sure if you would fill out your profile and tell us where you are located, you might have some better luck finding a dive buddy here!! Good luck!!

As Becki said, fill out your profile, and I bet you can find lots of dive buddies here. Most divers I know welcome new divers along, and skills practice is something we can all use. Speaking for myself, diving with new divers and seeing the wonder of it all through their eyes kinda keeps it fresh for me too.

After you fill out your profile, drop down to the club section of this forum and you may find a group in your area. Club is not really a good name as it is just a internet forum with no dues etc (at least the California Kelp Divers in California is).

Man, everybody's already given all of the advice I'd planned to offer. So I'll just say "Welcome" and offer my support after I read your profile!

Safe ascents,
Grier

Welcome to ScubaBoard!

Don't forget to fill out your profile, so that we can add context to your future posts. Also, once we know where you are geographically, you may find that you'll have a whole bunch of new dive buddies to choose from.

Dive safe!

Howdy!

Welcome to SB!!
:happywave Put us in your computer's favorites and check in often. This is a great place to learn, compare, argue :argue: Look around our various forums - everything from New-To-Scuba to Instructors-Only to Dive Medicine.

Depends on where you are. I've traveled alone to California, Cozumel, Roatan, Florida, North Carolina, etc, and always found a buddy on the charter boats. May not be a good diver, but I bring em' back alive.

Be patient....I had the same problem when I first got certified. It was hard finding buddies to dive with at first and had several dives fall through. I didn't dive at all the month following my classes but finally hooked up with some great buddies and managed to log 125 dives in my first year!

Good luck!

Where do you live? Welcome to the board.

P.S. Don't forget to fill out your profile.

I had the same problem and finaly started diving by my self. Once word got around that I dove every weekend, people started seeking me out as they had the same problem, no show dive buddies. I still dive solo a lot but it has gotten better, and a lot of what I do (Hunt and photo) is better solo anyway....Aloha and welcome to the board!
