Mornington Peninsula Newbie

Hey all. In Mornington Peninsula, Australia.
New to this, sort of, and hoping to find other local newbies and buddies. I have a 19yo and 23yo that got their Open Water as well.

Fastest way to accrue buddies is to join one of the clubs attached to a shop. Some let you pay per dive. Does sound like you bred your own buddies though!

There's some great shore diving on the peninsula, and getting on a charter from Portsea will get you to many great dive sites. As @Seepferdchencam suggested, finding a local club would be helpful to get acquainted with the sites - Rye Pier, Blairgowrie Yacht Club and Flinders Pier are the most oft dive shore dives. All can be dived with little orientation, but definitely worthwhile getting some local knowledge before jumping in by yourself.

Mornington Pier is OK. Both Rye and Blairgowrie are more often than not better dives than Mornington though.

Mornington Pier excels in providing the exposure to varying diving situations that will set these guys in
great stead with invaluable experience so they will be confident looking at fish under shallow piers later

and then I can take them west of Number 16 somewhere
