I like my ranger, but this is my second issue with the device: The velcro on the cam bands have abraded the left bladder. The "sand paper effect" of these bands have ripped a hole in the nylon (2 really) and also caused a leak in the bladder itself. I use my drysuit for boyuancy so I just noticed this issue during rinse off and oral inflate. I am asking if anyone has had this problem? I am just looking for thoughts about THIS problem with THIS BC. Please, No BP/Wing debate. Many thanks and Peace to all, D

I dont see how that is possible from normal use. I had a Ranger for a long time with no such issue. How old is this BC? How do you store it? How do you clean it???

The Z is 80 dives old. My past problem was that the weight pockets tore out like tissue paper on dive 18. I am sorry that I did not take pictures of that remarkable event. (past post about that is in the archive) As to cleaning and storage: I spray it with a garden hose at my budddys Long Island manse, then I soak it in my tub in manhattan with "sink the stink". Then, I hang it on a special BC hanger in my home to dry. I think I do well by Zeagle, I just want them to do well by me. Peace, dg

Between my buddies and I have, we must have a dozen Zeagle Rangers/Escapes....haven't seen anything remotely close to this. Seems like incidental contact wouldn't cause this. If it was occuring during a dive, seems like the bladders would have not be inflated fully to provide enough resistance. Any possiblity its happening in the back of your vehicle as your head to your local dive destination?

I have never heard of anything like that! If you are the original owner and bought it from an authorized dealer I'm sure they would be more than happy to fix it for you...

I would contact Zeagle directly.

Zeagle is very good about spuuorting their gear.

I would contact Zeagle directly.
Im 99.999% sure Zeagle will warranty that. I've had a past experience where I had to contact them directly due to my lazy LDS and they were super helpful and sent me replacement parts (free no less) within 4 days.

IceBergSlim once bubbled...
The velcro on the cam bands...

There is velcro on the cumberbun.

There is also velcro under the shoulder strap buckles.

The tank straps have velcro on them as well.

What exactly is a "cam band"? A tank strap?

(assuming you are not being sarcastic) Yes a tank band/strap (with cams)

Go to Zeagle's web page and leave a message. I'm sure one of the top people there will reply. I had a problem with the oral inflator and after a few friendly e-mails was sent a replacement. They wanted the old one back to inspect. I suspect they might want to see your problem up close and personal. Any product manager would want to hear the negative feedback so they can evaluate if a change is warrented. My Zeagle Ranger has no such wear problems. It has about 50 dives on it this year and little or no wear. Hope this helps.
