I'm a Fish!
I am planning on diving on January 1st. Will be watching the weather leading up to the day to complete selection of a dive site that will work. May do a river dive if the lakes get to ice covered. Some options are Southern Georgian Bay or Lake Huron, St Clair River, Lake Erie, Niagara River, Chippewa Creek, Lake Ontario west end. Not to fussy just have to go diving.

Does anyone else have plans for JAN 1 dive??
Perhaps we could get a large group to show how we dive here in Ontario if we plan together..

Brrrr. I'm thinking of doing a Christmas and a New Year's dive now that the ocean floor is covered with snow... er, squid eggs. It makes it feel like winter here in sunny SoCal.

Traditionally we have a group diving in wetsuits New Years Eve Day and then a few in drysuits on New Years Day. We do it in Alexandria Bay. Strange thing is, I look forward to it!!:D

Wish I was a little closer an I would join you. Alexandria Bay on New years sounds great. But a 5 hour drive both ways would make for a long day. Are you diving anything specific?

I really don't think we dive any specific site. We dive the Islander, the water intake line, or the boat launch at Bonnie Castle. The fun being in just doing it and being with friends. The refreshment hour after at Skiffs adds to the benefits of being "chilled" in the winter!!!:D

We hit the Islander behind the hospital today at 11 am. Had to move some ice but, the dive went well. Water temps 32-33*F by our computers and in our wetsuits it felt like it. Snowing like He__ when we came out and that made it miserable to change into dry clothes. Skiff's was the next stop and after some "rehydration" proceeded to my house for a few more rehydration's. Happy and Merry New Years to all!!!!
