Our team of about 60 members has 6 different teams. at this last meeting, an effort was made to allow different divers to dive during call outs. We would start having team 1 on call, and team two as a 90 percent team that would be required to get the trailer to the site. Team 1 needs to get themselves there, and are recommended to have all their equipment ready to go with them at all times, same with team two.

the next month, team two would be the top dog, and team 3 would be the backup. the next month, it would be 3-4, then 4-5 and so on and so on.

what do you guys think about this?

kuel! But that is a lot on members to manage.

With a 60 member team, that's about the only way you can manage it....Plus it makes it nice for team members to control their personal schedule, knowing they will be it....

Must be nice to have that many. We've got around 30 with about 12 divers and the rest are surface support. Most of us are also on our ground search team so we combined the 2 teams and are training non divers for support and are training the dive team to support our search dogs and handlers.
We had a search where a gentleman had been washed off a low water bridge. One dive team had "cleared" the river prior to our callout. Our dogs alerted on an area about 100 yds downstream from the bridge. That's where he was. Found out the other team had used sounding poles to clear the holes on the creek bed.
Don't expect every team to have the same dedication and training as your team. T
