I just purchased a "new" used Transpac II from a LDS that was not local to me. It was via the phone and mail and I was told that the XXL would fit me. It looks too big for me according to the DR website as far as how far down the shoulder straps come down. I am just wondering how much it matters how far down the chest strap is and if the straps can be shortened. The pac is comfortable and I can get the straps to lie flat on my shoulders and it fits snug. The waist belt is just below my navel, also, which also seems a bit big. I am wondering because the XL seemed to be a bit small. Am I just between sizes and have to just kind of suck it up or what? Oh, I am 6'3" and about 220lbs. I don't really have a long torso, either. Thanks.

When you take the measurements shown on the DiveRite web site what size does it say you need?

I'm 5'11" - 190 and bought a size L/XL. I ordered it in the L configuration and then adjusted it out to the XL marker. I don't know anything about the size difference with an XXL but it would seem about right for your size. The Tranpac is very adjustable. I would think you should be able make it fit just fine. It just needs to be good-n-snug, not good-n-tight.

Trey,

You should be able to shorten the shoulder straps to-boot with the Transpac harness. (Have you tried). These harnesses are very versatile, and from what I understand someone who is inbetween sizes should be able to fit into either, quite comfortably. How much playing around have you done with trying to adjust the straps?
