I'm new to the forum and would like to get some feedback on air compressors. I'm finding it a bit difficult to use the website. I tried to go to the specific forum for air compressors to post questions, but with little success. It says to go to the How To section for posting questions, but when I hit that tab it won't take me there. Any instructions? or suggestions on air compressors.
I have a 42 ft Catalina sailboat that I'd like to get rigged with SCUBA capabilities (private recreational, not commercial). I've looked into the MaxAir and Bauer compressors and would like to know if anyone has experience with these or any other small compressor (and generator to run them)? I've also heard of R.I.X. compressors, but don't have much info on them.

Rix is ideal for boat mounting. Being an oil-less compressor, they can be mounted in any orientation and if you have a generator on board, you can hook up a pulley system for the generator to drive the Rix, or at least tap into the same fuel cell. They are also not prone to carbon monoxide as long as the exhaust is routed properly because there are no hydrocarbons in the compressor itself to burn. SA-6 is a great option and can be had fairly cheap.
