I have been diving off and on since 1967. I was certified under the Florida Skin Divers Association and was taught by Ross Allen (alligator wrestler). Since then I have been certified via NAUI as a Master Diver and Nitrox. I have been diving with my two sons as we live in Florida. We enjoy diving the keys, but am interested in going to the Caribbean. Any suggestions?

Heya and welcome to the Board! This a great place to hang out during a SI. You’ll meet tons of new friends and dive buddies right here! This place has a wealth of knowledge to offer divers of any level.
Best wishes !

I loved the British Virgin Islands. Have sailed there, too (bareboat charter). All the islands are close to one another, and not very developed or populated (five years ago, anyway). The range of shapes and colors of soft coral was amazing. There's also one shipwreck that's an easy recreational dive.

Welcome to the board. I'm setting up a trip to grand cayman. Always enjoyed the diving there.

Hi and welcome to the board. You may want to consider the East End of Grand Cayman.

Easy diving and the sites are pristine with very healthy life. The island can offer both ends of the spectrum.... all the hustle and bustle of the normal Caribbean destination with the nice peaceful and great laid back East End.

If you do go there, try www.oceanfrontiers.com.

Have a great trip and safe diving,
Maria

Welcome to ScubaBoard! :happywave

I second Scott's suggestion about visiting our Greater Caribbean & Bahamas and Mexico forums.

Don't forget to fill out your profile, so that we can add context to your future posts. Also, once we know where you are geographically, you may find that you'll have a whole bunch of new dive buddies for you and your sons to choose from locally.

Dive safe!

Christian

P.S. Due to the high volume of new posts in the Introductions and Greets forum, it's not always possible to keep up with all the new posts here. So, please help me out and send me a PM if you post anything you want me to read or repsond to in this forum.

Hello from Matt,

Welcome to ScubaBoard ! :1poke: I came here to look for help with my scuba diving dream and the response has been fantastic. So, I know you will enjoy being a member here.
There are a lot of nice and informative scuba divers. It's a good place to meet other divers and share experiences and dreams. Take care from Matt. :snorkels:

Looks like they've got your question about Carribean locations covered.

Let me just invite you and your sons to dive with the Florida Conchs some time. We have a forum under Scubaboard Clubs, and meet all around the state for dives at least once or twice every week. We'd love to have you guys join us. I,for one, would like to hear about dive training in the "good old days".

Welcome to the board,
Grier
