This is a nice board. I've lurked for destination info several times. So, it's probably about time I participate a little!

My wife Jeannie and I have both been OW certified for about 9 years. We only get to take a dive vacation about once a year plus a trip or two to the local quarry to maintain skills. So we are really just perpetual novices.

We like warm clear water with lots to see. Dive in the morning, then beer at the pool/beach in the afternoon. Then a quest for excellent food at dinner. A nightcap, then lights out. Perfect vacation for us!

We've been to GC, Grand Bahama, Bermuda, St. Croix, Provo, Key West, St. John, Bonaire, Key Largo, and Aruba. We liked the diving in GC and Bonaire the best, but thought Aruba was the best overall destination we've visited. Bermuda was the prettiest. Our first trip to Coz will be in July.

That us and that's all for now.

Howdy!

Welcome to SB!!
:happywave Put us in your computer's favorites and check in often. This is a great place to learn, compare, argue :argue: Look around our various forums - everything from New-To-Scuba to Instructors-Only to Dive Medicine.

Ask anything - in the appropriate forum, and we'll make up an answer...

BTW - Did you set up your Profile, as suggested here: http://www.scubaboard.com/t60416.html I update mine after every trip.

:D

Yes indeed I do need to add Hawaii! Gotta have the right alignment of planets (good airfare and vacation time), but I'm sure it will happen. Which islands are the best for my kind of diving? That would be lots to see, relatively short boat rides, relatively calm surface conditions.

Summer is the best time Stephen, it gets a bit choppy in the winter months (But the whales are here in the winter.). Each Island has something going for it. Here are a few of the dive sites that members have entered.

You might also want to look at the Hawaii Ohana forum in general.
