Hello all you Florida divers and the divers that I miss who live in the Pacific Northwest!

After a 5 week delay in getting here, I have finally arrived in St. Augustine Florida to live for the next 6 months at least.

I am an experienced cold water diver who has drug all of his gear cross country and would like to avail myself of diving opportunities while I am here. I do realize that the reality is that the viz here in the winter months can be less than fantastic but then again, I just did a dive in Oregon a few weeks ago where the viz was less than 3 feet (and the water temp was 46 degrees!) so low viz diving is not an unusual aspect in my experience. Just always wonder what I have missed ;)

Anyhow, I am now situated in housing, have questionable transportation and need to get a wetsuit that will be appropriate for the area.

And really want to dive whenever possible.

Thanks for taking teh time to read this and look forward to putting faces to names of the many Florida divers that I have read of in the Florida forums.

Jeff

This forum is actually for Introductions of new members and Greetings.

I'll ask a Mod to move this to the Florida forum, where it should work much better.

Actually, if he could just visit the FL Forum and introduce himself there as well I'd be happy to let this stand as is. :)

Jeff! Welcome to Florida! Your now among the most active divers on ScubaBoard!!! BTW, if you have a drysuit available, we might need to chat.

Please check out the Conch Divers Forum, add yourself to our roll call, and feel free to join us at any of our dives!!!

That works for me! And in that case...

Howdy!

And welcome to SB - the biggest, the best, the fastest growing, and :D the friendliest!
If you'll simply click ScubaBoard.com above, you'll be taken to our long list of forums, a wealth of information and resources. My favorite is at the bottom: Singles Dive Club. You'll also find the Florida dive club towards the bottom, where you can make local friends and find dive buddies!

It would help in future diving discussions if you'd complete your Dive Info. You can use the Quick Links above to reach those easily. Sizing a photo for your profile or Avatar can be a challenge; I'm a fumbling amateur, but I get the job done, if you'd like any help?

PM me if I can help you learn your way around; that is - click my username to the upper left, then follow the prompts to send me a "Personal Message." :thumb:

WELCOME to ScubaBoard Jeff!!!
I noticed as I read your posts that you never
placed a hello here before, so this is your first
official greeting.
I hope you can stand warm water diving,
I've done both and it takes some getting
used too.
You'll probably manage to endure the hardship.

Tom

Hey Jeff

Wife and I just went up to St Augustine this weekend and did the tourist thing...It's kinda become an annual thing for us. Try to get up there around Halloween and do the ghosty thing

mm.. I am just waiting for all of the snowbirds to show up here. Guess that starts about Thanksgiving weekend.

Thanks to all for the welcome, hope to meet those of you that are local and get some diving in!

Jeff

Hi Jeff. You will love diving down here even on the winter months. I moved from Oregon down to Miami a little over a year ago. Love the diving. Welcome to the board.

Welcome to ScubaBoard! :happywave

Dive safe!

Christian

P.S. Due to the high volume of new posts in the Introductions and Greets forum, it's not always possible to keep up with all the new posts here. So, please help me out and send me a PM if you post anything you want me to read or repsond to in this forum.
