Regarding the compressor, I just got it last Tuesday and I haven't done any thing with it yet. The motor is a 3 HP Baldor (see plate). The sheave diameter (outside edge to edge) is 5 inches. The compressor fan sheave is 18 inches, so if my "higher math" is correct that should put us in the neighborhood of 950 RPM compressor speed. I've attached the electrical box pics you requested. It appears to be pretty straight forward. 230 V (L1, L2 and a ground). I don't think even I can screw that up...Although typically if I have a 50/50 shot, I'm wrong 75% of the time.My plan was to drain the oil, inspect for contaminants, if good replace the oil and run it to see if it's operational. If all is good than I would go forward with a new filtration system, oil change, turd polishing etc. It appears to have a cut out sensor in series on the 3rd stage output fitting, I'm assuming this is either an over temp / pressurization or both...Any comments there? I've attached a few pics here...It limited me to 5, I'll follow up with a few more.
Regarding the oil, any recommendations as to using petroleum based -vs- synthetic? I have no idea what's in there now? I have read that switching from petroleum based to synthetic has the potential to be problematic. It would get an oil change every year regardless of hours and that would most likely be around 50 hours or less. I currently have a Coltri MCH-6 and that's typically what I average now.
Also, regarding the DM, I never received one? I must be considered a "rabble rouser" or something? Can @Akimbo help me with that?
