Great week in Maui from 7/30 - 8/8. We stayed in Kihei, very reasonable and close to everything. I highly recommend Jay from scubagods.com. He was a great DM, very knowledgeable and safe, a great guide on the boat as well as beach dives. He books the boat dives on Scuba Shack's Double Scoop, Captain Charley Neal (scubashack.com). You'll be on the fastest dive boat in Maui and be the first divers at Molokini that morning. Also check out their website for accommadations too.
If you have a few weeks before you leave and you can afford it you must do the aquarium dive in the Maui Ocean Center in Ma'alea Harbor. They book up far in advance and only take 4 (2 at a time) divers Monday, Wed, and Fri. $199 per person (includes admission to MOC for each diver plus one guest, and a t-shirt), you supply your own gear except for tank & weights. Dive inside the 750,000 gallon aquarium with grey, white-tip & black-tip reef sharks, hammerheads, and a baby (4-foot) tiger shark. Feed the friendly, huge spotted eagle ray. The sharks are well fed and are used to divers and will ignore you. You're on display for the public. A great experience! Email for more questions. Have a great time.
