New to Sarasota - suggestions?

I'm returning to diving and PADI OW certified but I need a refresher and gear rental. I've seen a variety of dive shops but not sure where to go or who is the best. I've had a variety of good and bad experiences in the past on vacation. My best were small operators taking out small numbers of people. I just recently moved her full time from Chicago. Double agree with the Scuba Quest Guys, I go to Venice because its closer.... there are some good boats out of Bradenton FL. Conch Quest/Quest, there are some great guys out of venice for Sharks Teeth.... as far as the refresher I am only aware of a venice shop (name escapes me but google would reveal it on the island) being PADI..... The Scuba Quests as far as I know are all NAUI.

Enjoy your time here, great beach dives, and short trips in any direction to some great dive locations....
