I live in the greenville area, very new to diving, have 10 logged dives total.
I do not own my own equipment, but will start purchasing after i spend more time down under. Considering the advanced course soon, but looking to do some local dives asap.

Scuba72 - I recommend Lake Jocassee - very clear, pristine lake, with some good dives sites for all levels of training. Bill with Off the Wall Dive Charters (www.offthewalldiving.com) will fix you right up with a charter to the quarry - the area where the mountain was dynamited to build the dam. There is a Chinese Junk at 60 feet, along with lots of other "junk" to see down there. I've been there a lot - glad to answer any questions you might have. Have fun!

Good luck to you as you start to build your Scuba Experience! Lake Jocassee is close, and a great place to build your experience.

Welcome to scubaboard...I'm traveling to Greenville on buisness in a few weeks hope to get a few dives in while I'm there.

Welcome to the Upstate!

I am from Greenville also and would highly recommend Bermuda Triangle Dive Shop off Pelham Road. Very friendy and knowedgeable staff including the owners, Reese Davis and Mark Roth. They have lots of rental equipment, and dive Lake Jocassee almost every weekend. Dove there last weekend, and water temps are still warm.

See you at the lake!

Welcome to the board! I dive Jocassee too. Have hung up my open water fins in favor of the pool until spring. Hopefully you can join us out there. We ususally take over part of the ramp and cook out to make a whole day of it.

I am thinking it will be March or April before we head back out there. Hope to see you! We always have room for another diver!
