My favorite time to dive in NE is during the winter. With the right conditions the vis can be unbelivable. I'd trade 10 August dives for 1 december dive.

Get the DS and you can dive year round, it's worth it.

I would still love to hear from you about what "Cold Water" gear has worked the best for you. And about what equipment you would and wouldn't feel comfortable buying used.

I use a Scubapro Mk18/G250 Regulator. Its a Diaphram and it works Beautifully in cold water (never any problems)

I have heard of issues with the More expensive "Nicer" scubapro regs, since I haven't dove any of those I cannot say anything about it.

I can't think of anything else that is "Cold water" sensitive other then you and your regulator..

I am sure someone else on the board might have more input.

I think I already have given you the Speal about Diaphram vs Piston, so I won't repeat myself.
