Just back from first use of the TG-6 and strobe. Couldn't be happier with how it handled and performed underwater. Lots to learn for us as this is our first real forray beyond just a simple GoPro, so a lot of overexposure early but towards the end of the week we started getting it dialed in pretty well. Still large room for improvement, but I'm good with it as a first attempt.

Thanks for the setup lists, and the pics backing up what you have put together. I really appreciate it!

Trying to decide strobe vs video lights. Think I may go video lights and add a strobe later.

In the process of putting together my own TG6 package.. Got the TG6 last month for a trip to Costa Rica, but want to use it for scuba and stop using the gopro.

Anyone else having problems with photos coming out really dark in macro? I can't tell if it's because I'm aiming the strobe poorly of if the TTL timing is off...

I've not had any issues with Macro coming out dark

Just keep the go pro for wide screen video and use the TG6 for Macro. That's what I do you can mount the go pro on the TG6 waterproof housing.

Yeah it's horribly frustrating. I do get some good shots but a large percentage of my shots come out basically black despite me having the strobe pretty much on top of my subject.

I have had mixed results with this set up. The only reason my pictures aren’t awesome is “me”!!!

I’m playing with setting every dive and trying to learn the in and out of the camera and underwater photography itself.

10.5lbs on land and heavy enough for my likings.
I tried making my own floats and they crushed a bit around 90’. So I just ordered Stix jumbo floats. Freshwater in water weight is 3.3 lbs. I should have no problem getting this rig buoyant.

Here are a few shots from New Year’s eve dive in Dutch Springs PA.

Some darker then I would like but only time behind the lense will improve my skills.

IT will take time. My first couple of days my photos and videos were not great. You will improve.

Number one best addition to the rig is the STIX floats. Makes handling everything so easy. Barely negative when I let it go. Here are a few more from today. VERY happy with this set up. TTL flash and custom settings for macro and wide make it super easy to switch from macro to wide.
