Diaphragmatic breathing definitely has a positive effect on SAC. Chest breathing you are primarily using the upper portions of your lungs.
This is why diaphragmatic breathing is used from professional motocross racing to meditation.
 
I doubt the breath training you refer to is resistance training.
 
It is the same breathing technique with the use of a hand held resistance device that can be adjusted from low to high resistance.
They sell them now on Amazon. What's funny is that the old double hose Aqua Lung regulators did the same thing. Lol

I don't recommend meditating while riding motorcycles.

I bought one of those POWERbreath Plus devices a while back for general endurance sports training. It works, but I found it to be a bit of a hassle to use because I frequently have to open it up and clean it and bang on it to prevent the internal valve from sticking closed (can't inhale at all). Is there a different option that's more reliable?
