We went top Batu Bolong twice a few weeks ago and I hated it both times, there were so many divers I signaled to just cancel and go up. We DID see something very unusual - that's were we saw the Chinese young ladies with white swimsuit-type wetsuits and white leggings reaching from their feet to mid-calf. And don't forget the bunny ear hoods!

I cant' say I'm surprised nor indeed saddened.

Komodo used to be somewhere you would work up to, having got experience in currents before hand. Now it's become too accessible for those of limited ability, sometimes with boats changing their schedule to cater for the majority who don't like current, and of questionable ability

There are 100's of locations in the world for people to gain experience on or dive without current - leave some places (like Komodo) as destinations to aspire to

We'll be there in Dec, with a co that specialised in v small groups (5 max) and goes hunting for currents) And we're confirmed on Batu Bolong :)

Its Indonesia. There are rules and there are $rules$. Some people are going to become quite rich from this ruling.

Noted & added to the long list of Bill's hated items... just before "Champagne".

He hates Champagne? Or only that to be found in Indonesia?

Champagne in general.
What would you think of a guy who hates Champagne, Batu Bolong and white wine?

I dunno. I like Bill though.

Also a red wine drinker myself, so what do I know?
