Hello all,

Just a quick intro:

My girlfriend and I recently got certified in the tropical waters of Puget Sound and have just completely fallen in love with diving. I originally got certified in '92, but didn't do much diving. Back then, I was that one guy that had just enough knowledge to be a really scary diver. I took the class with my girlfriend so that we could start learning buddy skills together from the start. It was a great choice. Since taking the class again, I have learned a ton and look forward to learning even more. We are both planning on going through Rescue within the next year, but right now we are just racking up the dives for as much experience as we can get (25+ dives since mid March).

We have completed getting (I know, you never 'complete' getting gear - always something new to get) the core of our gear and can now dive with just getting our tanks filled. It is a great feeling to have a consitant rig to dive with.

Thanks all for the great discussions. It is very helpful to read about other experiences had by fellow divers.

I look forward to seeing all of you underwater.

Welcome to Puget Soup! Good to hear that both of you have been getting out and diving, and it's only going to get better from here. Life is roaring back in our local sites, and there's just tons to see down there, even if you have to peer through the murk a bit to find it :)

WELCOME TO :sblogo:
I used to live in Tacoma and really miss that part of the country! Glad you have gotten back underwater and hope that you and your GF have great diving adventures!

Yes, if you're considering taking an AOW class, Bob teaches a truly exceptional one.

Yup. Bob is the man. You do live in a great diving location... fantastic diving, abundance of resources, and a whole slew of fine divers to dive with.

Welcome to Scubaboard and the chilly waters of the Puget Sound!

My girlfriend and I took the same path as you. Feel free to drop me a note if you are ever looking for someone to dive with.

I just finished my Stress and Rescue course yesterday and would recommend it to anybody as a next step in becoming a better diver. Another great class is Tides and Currents with Mischi Carter. It's a short workshop but it goes a long way to help you plan your dives in the Puget Sound.

Thanks all :D

You are correct, I feel blessed to be diving in this area.

Thanks for the link Bill. I will definitely be looking into taking the class. It is something that we've wanted to learn more about, just didn't know that there was a class.
