I've been through them. The 2nd is a downsized version of the Odin using the exact same servo valve only with a linger wand and a smaller diaprhagm, and a separate, conventional exhaust valve. Very easy to service (if you don't mind the servo valve), the thing just snaps apart.
The 1st is a very substantial eggshaped hunk of brass with an extremely simple diaphragm valve train inside. There's no balance chamber, but is instead "self balanced" by a spring loaded floating orifice that moves in and out with the tank pressure, in the Sherwood/Genesis manner only with a coil spring rather than spring washers. The seat uses a rounded piston and a soft orifice and they told me they had expended considerable effort to come up with a foolproof design. There doesn't seem to be a cold water kit with a separate diaphragm like on most other diaphrgm firsts, though there is a thermal bushing that is supposed to serve the same purpose (let's hope it works better than the SP one!). The IP is fixed, no adjustment at all.
The most striking thing about the first stage (besides its formidable heft) is its simplicity - it's pretty clear they treid very hard to make it as simple as possible, and suceeded to an amazing degree. No special tools appear to be needed and everything is straightforward and logical. Put it beside a SP MK14/18 and the difference is remarkable - a rough parts count comes up with 18 parts in the X vs 38 for the SP.
Now here's the really dumb thing. While they are boasting its the first high performance 1st to be designed from the ground up for high FO2s, they are releasing it in an air, nitrox and 100% version, with different port configurations (the 100% version has simplifed ports as its intended for stages)! Wish reg manufacturers would just do it right and spare the buyer this sort of nonsense.
Oh there's rumors of an upgrade deal for Triton owners.
