Hello

While I was looking online for a LDS for some info, I came across their webpage. I actually looked them up a few months ago and was on their site but they had the regular basic info about their shop.. However, when I went on their site today, I was surprised to see that they have an online shop with decent prices (and in canadian $$). Well, at least in my openion. I was truely happy to see this, and instead of buying from LP (which I had planned to do) I can actually get it in my city, for the same price.. Maybe I can save on S&H by going to the shop directly but either way, i found it interesting to pass it along... oh... and they also ship to the US...so here it is...

CPAS ACHAT EN LIGNE - CPAS BUY ONLINE - Plongee sous-marine equipements

this is only good if your french is good or you know exactly what you want beforehand... I thought about checking out their shop, but it's interesting to know that I can now do that from the comfort of my own home

edit: upon looking a bit further, i realise most of the product descriptions are in english (probably the manufacturer's description)

What I really liked about the online shop, is that once u register, it calculates the tax for the items u want, and that the online shop is actually in english and french.

I have actually been in the shop a few times, and it was alright, staff is friendly, but really french. I normally buy my stuff from a shop on Ste. Catherine and PieX (scubapat or something like that) they are amazingly friendly but the shop is really small. (havent bought serious stuff yet, just the basic mask, fins, and snorkle) This site came on time because I plan to buy my dive comp, and cumpas in June. So I am really happy about finding the page.

It took me A LONG time to figure it out, but near the top right (to the left of the currency), there are two flags....they toggle the language.

The next question would be are they authorized dealers and resellers or are they similar to Liesure Pro? I say nothing bad about LP because I have bought from them, but with many products, they come only with an LP warranty and not a manufacturers warranty. I will definitely be looking at this new store. Thanks. When looking for things, Prime Scuba does a great job at competing so they have won some of my business....you should also check them out.

That is a good question, however I am not sure about authorized dealer. But, they are a regular shop (decent size shop at that) so I am assuming maybe they are for certain companies. I know they have a lot of Mares stuff in the shop.

a little poking around and found they're authorized dealers for at least mares, oceanic and bare... didn't bother looking for anything else (is LP an authorized dealer for anything?)

Suunto as well.. guess i know where i am going to buy my Gekko dive comp lol.

Well that is good news because LP was selling the Gekko for $260 USD + shipping AND Fx versus the $299 CDN + shipping.

I totally agree with you on this. One of the things that i did find expensave through them is the regs and octo. I am looking for the cressi alaska and I find LP is cheaper on this. However, with the exchange rate, the shipping rate, i dont know how much cheaper LP is, guess will have to figure that one out when I am ready to buy the regs.

Well yesterday I had sent an e-mail to find out of the prices, online vs in shop as well as what companies they were authorized dealerf for and this is the reply I got.

Hi,
The prices on website is the same or less in our store. We are an authorized dealer for all of companies you see on internet plus Scubapro who doesn’t not appear on website.

As buyers, we need to make sure that we fully understand the true terms of sale for what we are buying. This includes knowing if the seller is authorized to sell the product OR what the terms are if they are not an authorized distributor (in most LP cases it is living without the manufacturers warranty but with an LP warranty). I purchased a BCD from LP and have never looked back. It has 300+ dives on it and has never let me down. So, it is not all doom and glloom with them as long as the buyer knows what they are getting and what the true terms of sale are (even though many would have you believe otherwise).

Good luck and thanks again for pointing this shop out.
